Who we are
LankaLux Astro is part of LankaLux Travel, Sri Lanka. The tools are built and maintained by Ceylon Web Studio. Our aim is to make traditional astrology simple, free and available in Sinhala, English and Hindi.
How we calculate
- Sidereal (nirayana) zodiac with the Lahiri (Chitrapaksha) ayanamsa
- Sri Lankan Rasi chart with whole-sign houses counted from the Lagna
- Mean Rahu–Ketu
- Vimshottari dasha (120 years), navamsha and D2–D60 divisional charts, shadbala and yogas
- Historical time zones applied automatically (for example Sri Lanka’s past clock changes)
Accuracy
Our calculation was compared with the standard Swiss Ephemeris on 3,000 random births (1940–2030). Results of the October 2026 check:
| Body | Largest difference from Swiss Ephemeris |
|---|---|
| Sun, Moon, Ascendant, Rahu | under 6′ (usually under 1′) |
| Mars, Mercury, Venus | about 3′ or less |
| Jupiter, Saturn | under 11′ (typically 2–5′) |
So only in rare cases, when a planet sits within a few arcminutes of a sign boundary, can another program show a different sign.
How the readings are written
Report texts are put together automatically from classical rules — house lordship, planet strength, yogas, dashas and transits. They are general guidance only; for medical, legal, financial or marriage decisions, talk to a qualified astrologer and the right professional.
Your birth details
Your birth date, time and place are used only to calculate the chart; we do not save them in our database. They are kept in the page link so you can come back or share it — share that link only with people you trust.
