South Coast Surf and Culture 6-Day Tour
Warm water and soft, sandy-bottomed waves make the south coast a forgiving place to learn to surf. After a first evening in Galle Fort, you move east to Weligama's beginner-friendly bay, the reef breaks of Midigama and the wide, quiet beaches around Tangalle.

Overview
During the north-east monsoon season the south coast between Galle and Tangalle enjoys clean swell, warm water and long sunny days. Weligama’s curving bay has gentle, sandy-bottomed waves that suit complete beginners, while a few kilometres west at Midigama, reef and point breaks give improving surfers something to work towards.
Culture threads through the week too. Galle Fort’s Dutch-era streets make a relaxed first day, and the coast road passes fishing harbours, small Buddhist temples and the outrigger canoes still used by local fishermen. From Mirissa, whale-watching boats head out in season to look for blue whales and dolphins, though sightings vary. The final stretch reaches Tangalle, where the beaches are broader and quieter, the rock temple of Mulkirigala rises inland and, at Rekawa, green turtles may come ashore to nest at night.
Lessons are pitched to your level, and non-surfing companions have plenty of beach time, walks and village visits.
Think of this as a draft: the route, pace and hotels are tailored around your dates and preferences, and no booking is made until you confirm.
